This was one of my most recent projects! We had a small, family party at our house for my daughter’s 2nd birthday. Of course there is never a time I can keep things simple. Delia loves Elmo! So I decided to run with the Elmo theme. I found most of my ideas on Pinterest. Here is what I ended up with:
I loved this table! It had all of Elmo’s favorites. For this table I ordered a plastic fishbowl from Amazon and filled it with blue Hawaiian Punch mixed with Sprite. I placed a few Swedish Fish in the bottom of each glass just for fun. The other side of the table had four different kinds of snacking goldfish, which I changed at cake time to four different kinds of dessert goldfish. I decorated the tables with a plastic table cloth, tags to let people know what kind of goldfish they were eating, and a few scattered crayons.
These were a few other decorations around the house. My centerpiece was a giant martini glass filled with crayons. I also used black, red, and orange balloons around the house to tie the Elmo theme together.
Here are a few more of the Elmo treats we enjoyed. The fruit and veggie platters were ideas from Pinterest. The Elmo cake was a Wilton mold that I’ve used several times over the years.
I think everyone’s favorite part of the party was the Sesame Street Photo Booth. Even the adults had fun choosing characters and posing for a picture. I must give credit to Catch My Party for this awesome idea. I created this backdrop with felt and a hot glue gun and it was a hit! Also I did my own take on PAPERandPANCAKES props.
This is what everyone saw as they left the party.
I had such a great time planning and preparing for this party. Most of the projects were simple and fun to do. Plus I was able to get most of my materials at the dollar store, so it was inexpensive as well.
Hope you enjoyed!
